The air stagnation advisory is now in effect until 12 PM PST Wednesday.
Air stagnation will continue in the Wenatchee area... as well as in the valleys along the east slopes of the Cascades through Wednesday afternoon. The low level inversion will weaken for a few hours Tuesday afternoon... but strengthen again during the evening. Level winds will continue to be light in the sheltered valleys like the Methow Valley... the Wenatchee valley... and around Lake Chelan... leading to the potential for a build up of low level pollutants.
An air stagnation advisory is issued when stagnant air holds pollutants close to the ground... where people live and breathe. It is highly recommended that no outdoor burning occur during times of stagnant air and that you restrict burning in your indoor fireplace as much as possible.
Some cities that are included in the air stagnation advisory are... Wenatchee... Chelan... Leavenworth... Twisp... and Mazama.
