... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST this
afternoon...

A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST this
afternoon across northeast Georgia... upstate South Carolina... and
the foothills and Piedmont of western North Carolina.

Northwest winds of 20 to 25 mph are expected this afternoon... with
winds gusting to 30 to 35 mph at times. In addition to being
hazardous to boaters... winds of this speed could blow down large
limbs and weak trees.

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 6 PM EST this
afternoon...

A red flag warning remains in effect until 6 PM EST this
afternoon for the upstate of South Carolina and extreme northeast
Georgia.

Northwest winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph this afternoon
across northeast Georgia and upstate South Carolina. Wind gusts of
30 to 35 mph will also be possible at times. In addition... relative
humidity values will drop below 25 percent early this
afternoon... and then remain low through sunset. These conditions
will combine with very low fuel moisture to produce a favorable
environment for the rapid spread of wildfires.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and low fuel moisture will
create explosive fire growth potential.
