Issued by the National Weather Service at 12:33 PM EST on November 21, 2008
The short term forecast for southern Erie and Wyoming counties and the western southern tier. Occasional lake effect snow showers will continue through early afternoon. The lake effect activity has become disorganized as winds begin to change direction...therefore any additional accumulations through 2 PM will be an inch or less in most places...although localized amounts over higher elevations could receive additional amounts up to two inches. Though snowfall amounts early this afternoon will be fairly minor...untreated roads will be snow covered and slippery. Motorists should use caution and be alert for slick spots. Allow some extra time to reach your destination.
