... Red flag warning remains in effect from 11 am to 10 PM MDT
Friday for gusty winds... low humidity... and dry fuels for fire
weather zone 201 above 8500 feet...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a red
flag warning for gusty winds... low humidity... and dry fuels...
which is in effect from 11 am to 10 PM MDT Friday.

* Affected area...

in Colorado... fire weather zone 201 Routt forecast area.

* Winds... southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Relative humidity... around 15 percent.

* Impacts... fire ignitions may be difficult to control tomorrow
afternoon with high rates of spread possible. Isolated
thunderstorms in the late afternoon and early evening may start
new fires.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.

Please advise the appropriate officials and affected field
personnel of this red flag warning.
