Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 3:24 PM AKST on January 6, 2009 |
... Another winter storm likely later this week...
Another weather system moving into the area will likely bring heavy snow over much of the Panhandle Thursday night into Friday. Snowfall amounts... while still uncertain at this time... may exceed one foot in some areas by Friday evening. The higher water content of the snow will increase stress on roofs already covered by heavy snow from previous events. People with flatter roofs are encouraged to clear off the snow that is already on their roof to minimize the risk of damage.
