The Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 9 PM this evening to 9 PM akst Wednesday.
Northeast wind to 30 mph with gusts up to around 45 mph... combined with cold temperatures over the region... will produce wind chill temperatures to 35 below zero from late Tuesday night through Wednesday. Areas of blowing snow will lower visibility below 2 miles at times... with areas of drifting snow along the Haines Road.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... cold wind chills... and blowing snow... will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
Exposed skin in the advisory area can become frostbitten in 10 minutes. If you must be outdoors... be sure to cover all exposed skin.
Travel is discouraged unless it is an absolute emergency.
This statement will be updated by 6 PM akst today or sooner if conditions warrant.
