    Lake Wind Advisory
    Statement as of 10:38 am EDT on May 20, 2008

    ... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EDT this
    evening for Lake Moultrie...

    Winds will increase on Lake Moultrie today as low pressure moves
    across southern Virginia and strong high pressure remains across
    the Gulf of Mexico. Southwest winds will increase to 20 to 25
    knots by late morning and continue into the evening hours before
    diminishing. Winds may gust as high as 30 knots at
    times... especially near the Lake Shore. Waves will build to 1 to 2
    feet with highest waves occurring across the central and northeast
    portions of the lake. These conditions could easily overturn small
    recreational craft such as fishing boats.

    Mariners are urged to use extra caution on Lake Moultrie through
    this evening. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio all hazards... TV
    or your local news source for the latest weather information from
    the National Weather Service.

    Statement as of 9:14 am EDT on May 20, 2008

    ... Strong winds across area bridges this afternoon and evening...

    The large pressure difference between low pressure moving toward
    the Delmarva region today and high pressure to the south will
    result in strong southwesterly winds across the area this afternoon
    and evening.

    Southwesterly winds will reach as high as 20 or 30 mph through
    8 or 9 PM this evening... but with higher gusts especially along
    the coast and across the taller bridges such as those in
    Charleston... Beaufort and Berkeley counties.

    This includes... the Ravenel bridge... the Don Holt bridge... the
    James b Edwards bridge... the Ben Sawyer bridge... the Isle of
    Palms connector... the Amos nathaniel Rodgers bridge and the Woods
    Memorial bridge.

    If driving this afternoon and evening be alert for sudden gusts of
    wind... especially in open areas and across bridges and overpasses.
    Drive at a safe speed and keep both hands on the steering wheel
    at all times.

    news source for the latest weather information from the National
    Weather Service.
